Welcome to my site! I am new to the website world, so I hope with time I will grab your attention and help you see the world of Naturopathic Medicine!
It has been a long journey, with an undergrad in Psychology at Dalhousie University in Halifax from 2009 to 2013 to start off my post-secondary education. And now officially no longer considered a student, but a Naturopathic Doctor after attending the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine from 2014 to 2017. After graduation in May 2017, all of my fellow colleagues endured a long, hard summer of studying for our second round of board exams, NPLEXII (Naturopathic Physician Licensing Exam Part II). After completing this in August, and finding out I passed in September, I began my career as an N.D. in November right here in my hometown! To say I am grateful for this career is an understatement.
Naturopathic Medicine is a field I am very passionate about and I believe it is becoming a mainstream healthcare system. We look to treat the person as a whole, and educate patients on how their body is functioning and how it should be functioning. By doing a complete and full history of every body system, we are able to treat the body as a whole. By using this approach, each treatment is individualized to the patient. Everyone is unique, so your treatment should be unique to you and not the same as everyone else.
Our treatment options involve a wide range of modalities – including Botanical medicine, acupuncture, nutritional counseling, Traditional Chinese Medicine and supplementation with appropriate vitamins and minerals. Understanding the root cause of a problem can help us work toward becoming a healthier version of ourselves and improving our life in many ways. As a Naturopath we also provide lifestyle counseling, relaxation therapies and other means of improving the health of every individual.
